Thanksgiving Prayers 2017

Blessings and warm wishes for you and your loved ones during this Thanksgiving and as we prepare for the Christmas season. The Maryland Province has assembled several thanksgiving prayers that can be used for your family gatherings.

They can be viewed below or as a downloadable PDF.

Prayer for Generosity

Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve You as You deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to look for reward,
save that of knowing that I do Your will.

St. Ignatius Loyola

A Thanksgiving Prayer

Bless us and our families
this Thanksgiving day, O Lord.
Thank you for all the gifts you lavish
upon us throughout the year.
May those who hunger have bread.
And may we who have bread so bountifully
today hunger always for your justice and peace.

Giving Thanks to God

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
to which indeed you were called in one body.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly;
teach and admonish one another in all wisdom;
and with gratitude in your hearts sing
psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to God.
And whatever you do,
in word or deed, do everything
in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:15-17
