Theme set for Province Summer Retreat

The theme of the 2008 Maryland Province Retreat is "Deus caritas est: Exploring the Love of God with the Spiritual Exercises and Pope Benedict." The retreat director is John Conley, SJ, the Knott Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Loyola College in Maryland.  Fr. Conley is the author of The Suspicion of Virtue: Women Philosophers in Neoclassical France (Cornell University Press: 2002), Jacqueline Pascal: A Rule for Children and Other Writings (University of Chicago Press, 2003), and Madame de Maintenon: Dialogues and Addresses (University of Chicago Press, 2004).  He is the co-editor of Prophecy and Diplomacy: The Moral Doctrine of John Paul II (Fordham University Press, 1999) and Creed and Culture: Jesuit Studies of John Paul II (Saint Joseph's University Press, 2004).

    The retreat will be held at Wernersville, Pa., Friday evening, Aug. 8 until Saturday morning, Aug. 16. If you are planning on attending the retreat, contact Michael Westman, assistant to Fr. Watters, at 410-532-1402, by July 31.
