Beyond direct donations, there are many ways to support our work - through direct contributions of securities, remembrance in wills, charitable trusts, and others. There are a number of ways - large and small - that you can support the work of the Maryland Province and its ministries. This page explains each method and its requirements.

Make a Donation Online

You can make an online donation in a secure, convenient setting, using your MasterCard or VISA to donate funds to the Maryland Province . Thank you for your support of the Maryland Province and its ministries.

Cash Gifts

If you itemize on your tax returns, your gift to the Jesuits will allow you to receive a full charitable income tax deduction. Simply send your donation to:

Matching Gifts

If your employer will match your gifts and you complete whatever forms are necessary, you can benefit the Jesuits two-fold (simply make sure the forms are filled out with the same organizational titles/address above).

Securities

If you have some stocks that have earned you long term capital gains, your gift to the Jesuits (via the JSMB, the Jesuit Seminary & Mission Bureau of the Maryland Province) will help you avoid a hefty capital gains tax while still benefiting the Maryland Province Jesuits.

Remember the Jesuits in Your Will

As you provide for your loved ones in your will, you can also leave an additional amount for your charitable interests. You can names a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or "what's left." If you benefit the Jesuits in your will, you need to use either or both of the JSMB's legal titles:

• Jesuit Seminary Guild (for Jesuit formation needs and care of infirm and elderly Jesuits)
• Jesuit Mission Bureau (for foreign and domestic needs of the Maryland Province)

Jesuit Charitable Gift Annuity

If you are over the age of 55 and would like a guaranteed income for life with no investment responsibilities, you can have the pleasure of helping the Jesuits through a Jesuit Charitable Gift Annuity. Payments to you are based on your age, the date of your gift and a payment to your beneficiary, if you so desire. Contact the JSMB if you would like to discuss this kind of gift and/or receive a proposal with more details.

Set Up a Charitable Trust

If your consultation with a professional planner (attorney, banker, accountant, tax advisory, financial planner, investment advisor or representative of a charitable interest) suggests that your financial security will be maintained by setting up a trust agreement and you wish to help with the future needs of the Jesuits, then contact the JSMB so we can help you meet your objectives.
